Some information about how accounts get associated.

All companies that provide Internet service are assigned a certain number of IP addresses for their customers. These are numbers that temporarily identify a computer while it is logged in so that messages and web pages will go to the correct device. When the user logs off the Internet or shuts down the computer/mobile device, that IP address is released to be used by another computer.

So, if you use a large Internet service provider (think AOL or one that covers a large area), you can become associated with someone who lives quite a distance away because both of you have been assigned the same IP address at some time. If you use public wi-fi you may also find yourself associated with another player who has used the same one. If you are using school computers, you can become associated with any other student who also uses them.

If you go to your member home page you will find a list of associated members under Stable Management on the right.

My daughter and I live in the same household, so we use the same email address (required by the rules) even though we don't play each other's accounts. However, both accounts are listed as belonging together and as associated. At present, we are also associated with cora2332 and pitchblackdam38, although we have never met the owners in real life.
