Mares can be bred only once each game-year/breeding season (unless it's by pulling eggs and creating embryos, an upgrade ability).

The new Hunt and Jump year will begin on the first of January and then every other month after that--March, May, July, September, and November.

Admins and such begin breeding on the first of the month, to check out things for bugs. Upgraded members are assigned times when they may begin breeding on the 2nd. Everyone else begins breeding on the 3rd. Breeding season continues through the 27th of the month.

Sometimes, Ammit opens up breeding for us during the second month of the game year, as she has this month, but it is not guaranteed to happen, so look for announcements here in the forum about that. Even so, if a mare was bred earlier, she cannot be bred again in the same year.
