For Auction: 4yr Foundation Snowflake Carrier
-
I went on a creating spray this season and got multiple foundation snowflake carriers. Since I am still trying to finish off another GMT project I need the money to buy some IVs. Therefore I'm auctioning off one of the Snowflake foundations I created.
MS Zinfandel hetSF PAS
She has been bred to 'test' her for Snowflake, the foal is still in my posession as proof that she is indeed a snowflake carrier. However, I'm fine with yumming the foal after the auction ended so she can be GMT'd.
Please use the following format, starting bid is also the reserve:
Name - ID - 50k
This auction will run for 8 days till Tuesday, April 23rd, 6AM EST game time.HJ1 160524

Pure curiosity - how can you tell if a horse is het for snowflake? Is there a certain pattering different from all appy, or a gene?
I have snowflake straws and plenty of appy mares but im clueless to the het look xD -
@bravo25 you can only tell if a horse is homozygous snowflake with an appy (Lp) gene.
Hetero cannot be seen by the eye, you're correct about that.
What I did is that I bred her to a homozygous snowflake stud to 'test' her, and she gave me this foal:
MS 289343ruehjty hSF
As you can see from the eye it is a homozygous snowflake, and it could be entered in the Snowflake Breeders Club (only homozygous Snowflakes are egible for that club).
So as this foal is a homozygous Snowflake, that means that mom is a snowflake carrier!
That's how I found out.
Even horses without Appy genes can be snowflake carriers, like this mare:
MSH Truth Day SF SNOWFL $
She's just a plain chestnut but if you look at her foals you'll see she produced multiple homo snowflake foals with Snowflake appy studs!
So therefore we call Snowflake a 'hidden' gene, it is only visible when it is homozygous and with an appy gene. Same for Kit Promotor (KP), it needs to be homozygous and with 2 KIT genes (Roan, Tobiano, Whites, Sabinos for example) to show. Hetero KP or homo KP without 2kit genes won't show. Gulastra Plume (GP) is another hidden gene, only visible when it is homozygous and on E horses with an agouti gene (A, At, A+).
And @Bluchrystals thank you for your bid! :)Post edited by MasterStablesMS at 2019-04-15 03:57:26HJ1 160524

It's nowhere near enough, but I figured I'd start her out anyway.

Thank you, this auction is now over.
Bluchrystals, congratulations on winning!
I'll put her up in your chat for you :)
Oh and do you want me to yumm the foal so you can GMT her?HJ1 160524
HJ2 136 -
If you don't mind, she'll be going down to riding horse weight :D
-
Haha I don't mind it!
I've yummed the foal, but it might be a couple minutes or maybe even hours untill she is removed from the game tho, not sure how fast that goes.
Goodluck with her, I hope she gives you many snowflake foals! :)HJ1 160524

Thank you. And I work today so plenty of time before I get back to her.
