Top Producer Title
-
I am trying to understand the top producing mare/stallion ect. Is it based on their paper level and/or their offspring's paper level? Can someone explain how top titles work? I have two mares in top producing levels but their foals do not paper high despite matching with a higher papered stallion. Also does the pasture boost or other boosts contribute to the title?
Im sorry it's alot of questions but I don't understand how my lowly mismatched herd can have a title at all. Lol
Thank you.~Sam

Per Ammit (as of September 2017):
How things work on the lb for top stud and mare have changed slightly so I wanted to give a rundown.
Anytime you look at a horse's page it checks them for foals and then updates their foal score if they qualify for the LB. It zero outs the foal score for any horse that does not qualify.
To qualify for the LB a horse must have a living foal that is less then 3 years old (that is foals born the current or prior year).
Stallions must have a minimum of 10 foals, mares a minimum of 3.
The act of breeding a horse will also trigger a foal score update on both sire and dam. You do not need to pull up the pages of breeders from today on to get on the LB.
Foal scores are not dropped at the end of the season. That means horses that no longer qualify for the LB are not auto kicked off. To force an update just open that horse's page and they will be removed.

Is the leader based on the foals’ average PT? Breeding quality? Something else or a combination of factors?

I think it may be a combination, but don't quote me!

Just because a mare was a top producing mare, doesn't mean her foals will be too, even if paired with stallions of equal quality, the foals could be worse, roughly equal to, or better. Paper level is a reflection of breeding quality but papers cover a very broad range, the real figure is a hidden value we can only guess at from a combination of paper levels, AFPT etc. Likely the horses on the best producing LB's have their placement largely dependent on this hidden value

It is also the case that stallions and mares that are higher up in generations are going to throw foals that have higher PT scores and better breeding ability than Foundations. Most of the horses you see on the top of the producer leaderboards will (usually) be higher generation horses.
Add in the fact that upgraded accounts can, via embryo transfer, get 3-5 foals from a mare per season, and people can pick and choose the foals with the higher PTs and sell the lower scoring foals back to the game thus keeping the parents AFPT and foal count pretty high.Post edited by ConfluenceStable at 2019-04-16 19:18:57

I have to admit that I'm confused as all get up when it comes to leader board horses.. I have one in era 6 on the board but when looking at mares above her, there's one who has 3 foals (ages 4 and under) and none of them are even tested to give the mare an AFPT
