I've done this before and gotten the horse back by bidding on him myself. I just kept am eye on him to make sure I stayed the high bidder and at the end of the auction he went back in my barn and no money was added to or left my account.

Ok, you can put a note saying that the horse was not supposed to be in the auction, and that you would like to keep it, but you can't say "please don't bid". It's a fine line; you can explain the accident, but not 'tell' anyone that they can, or can't bid.

Does that make sense?
