Help with Bay Dun DP
-
So I'm pretty sure this gal is at least het DP, as her sire is het DP, but I don't have much experience with identifying DP on bay horses. As such, I don't know if her dam is het DP, so I don't know if it's even possible for her to be hom DP.

Beautiful filly! I love the dapples and nd1 on her! I'm not perfect at spotting DP either... but her dam doesn't look dark enough to me. Probably this filly is het DP.

Check out the Bay Dun examples in this thread: https://www.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/comment/116060#item_7Thanked by 1Heartwood

Agreed with @CLynnRose Her dam is definitely not DP to my eye. Due to the heavy dappling and the darkness of the topline I would hazard a guess that she's het, but dun always has such a wide variety of expressions it can be hard to tell :)ID: 247225

Ah, okay. Usually I just breed red based DP so it's easier for me to identify, but I felt bad that my Rhythm of Four stud was sitting there not doing much, so I thought I'd start using him a bit. And considering he's thrown quite a few blue foals, even if it's harder to spot the DP, he might be a permanent addition to the line.
