Onyx

Really bummed with how this guy turned out with het onyx. Will The onyx be darker and more noticeable if I add another copy?

If I remember right, I think Ammit said Dun and ND1 will lighten the Onyx markings.

The problem is that he has multiple dilution genes each of which makes him lighter. Removing the cream and or the dun should help. You don't have to make him hom onyx, though unless you want to be sure all his foals are onyx, changing the D to nd2 should have the same visual effect.Post edited by LakeOndowaFarm at 2019-07-01 06:45:16Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

For the biggest and cheapest impact remove the dun gene. Dun plus onyx created phantom onyx.Post edited by Ammit at 2019-07-01 06:47:14Need to contact me? Read this first.

Oh duh... thanks everyone. I knew that about the fun gene lightening to onyx and apparently looked that over in my excitement ;))
