What color is she?
-
Her papers say bay roan, but I know she's not just a plain and simple bay. I was wondering what makes her look not bay? :))
Here's what I know:
Her sire was Chestnut and her dam was Black
She had two foals, a Cherry bay (out of a chestnut) and a regular bay (out of that same sire).
Here's her Sire's pedigree: *you can find pictures on there and also color names*

My guesses are Brown, Bay with Sooty, Nd1 bay?, or Bay with DP *probably not but you never know*
Also are the Marks on her shoulder spots or dapples? *she was just bathed in the picture*Post edited by Craig at 2019-07-29 22:14:39 -

I can't answer what color she is, but she is gorgeous.

Thank you :x

She is plain bay, but appy does all kinds of things. Varnish can make all kinds of weird pattern (like the shoulder marking on your mare, I would guess), and appaloosa bronzing can skew colors to the unrecognizable. Look up Ava's Minted Design, for example. She is color tested grulla, but you would think her a chestnut or maybe palomino by looking at her!ID 195859

True! But I do think she might have some Sooty in her. Her dam was black and was out of many other blacks, and dark/liver Chestnuts :)
