Hello! I thought I read somewhere that having a Basic Upgrade gives you the ability to name a breed of horse (so that the foals you breed at your farm are called a custom breed name instead of "National"). If I am correct in my understanding, I still can't find a page or button to do that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

@ammit is there a way to see what breed names have been picked/used? specially since we are making up a word, I dont want to pick one too close or copy another members. :-?

I don't believe there is a public list of all of them. It would be a long one, I'm sure. If it's like the horse naming feature, it will tell you if the name has already been used. Ammit will know for sure. :)

What I did was to take my stable name, SandyCreek, and look up the two words together at an online translation site to see if anything interesting and fairly pronouncable popped up. For this server, I ended up with the German bach sandig and made my breed name Bachsandigan.

On the Forest Server, where I'm also SandyCreek, I went with Norwegian, and have Sandbuktian horses.

I've never seen any other breed names close to them. :D

This is a fairly simple technique that might work for you as well.

While my breed name isn't related to my stable name I chose a language that is related to my family in a way. My grandparents are white south African and so Sugowena is a word my grandmother used to say alot, so I use that word as my breed name. If you choose something truly unique I'm sure nobody else would have it

You know that whenever the conversation comes around to breed names I have to pop in and make everyone check out my HJ2 breed name: Callipygian.

There's a greek word for unicorn? That's new to me and I love unicorns! I have just made mine breed name a few days ago and I based it of of one of my fav books about a herd of celestial unicorns! Hence my new banner as well!(Celestial Angels) because in my mined All horses are magical(like unicorns just without the horn!)

My breed name, Meleagris, is the genus name for turkey :D

And thanks everyone else for the input! I found a website that generates made up words, so I’ll try one and hopefully its not too real or close to another's. I’m sure I’ll hear back if so!
