I'm not an expert at DP, but I doubt it. To use your examples, those two are pretty close in shade, and she's het DP and sooty, whereas he's hom sooty, which makes two darkening alleles each. To me, he doesn't really look like he's hiding a third allele (DP) under there

Agreed with the above, he's not quite dark enough and doesn't have the nice purplish color that DP bays get.
