Managed to get my Dad's house listed for sale today. It is a small step in what is an unnecessarily arduous process. When my Dad passed he left 2 wills, the one he wrote when he had more assets than debt after my Mom passed away, he had a Trust organization as the executor. The one he had wrote in 2005 he had me as executor. But it was hand written and he never actually said 'executor' he just said he trusted that I would look after his estate. Apparently not good enough for courts and lawyers and banks and such.
So after months and several lawyers and lawyer bills I had both wills annexed(other than executor part they say the same thing). And now I have a letter of administration. He had no insurance and only negative balances so everything has come out of my own pocket. Neither of my brothers are in a position to really help out. So until the house sells I am paying 2 energy, and 2 power bills, all lawyer bills, the rest of the debts can wait until there is a positive balance in his account.

His house is cavernous, but rather, um rustic(think bachelor cowboy with grand ideas and no finishing skills) We have priced it low due to this unusual renovations and finishing. Someone will have to gut it and refinish it.
Here is to hoping that someone see the potential. It is like 1600 sq feet on the main floor with fireplace and 5 man hot tub in the sun room, master bedroom with full bath and jet tub, and 800 sq foot 2 bedroom one bath(another jet tub) upper story, and 800 sq foot finished basement, attached oversized 2 car garage. On 9 acres with a fairly large hip roofed barn and fenced with a dugout.

It will be sad to see the place go, we bought it(I picked it) when Mom died and he decided he couldn't live in the old house anymore. I guess it is another chapter closed.
