How do you all name lined horses?

    Just wondering how everyone else keeps lined horses sorted? I usually like to use real names based off the names of the parents. But this last summer has been really crazy and I haven't had time to sort through and name my pixel ponies. While breeding this month I have been running into unnamed mares out of unnamed mares. :O Help?

    I don't name my foundation mares, only the foundation studs. From those I name all foals based of their sire's name. Then name all future gens something based on their sire's/dam's names.

    I tried naming everyone but ended up just naming those who meet the standard I want for their generation.. I don't know how people do it :))

    I always ad a G# prefix to clear up the generation (otherwise I would never remember who's who). Usually I have name themes for certain lines. I have one stud that's mythological weapons, and one that's Greek deities, but I always end up mixing some random names in as well :)

    I do the same thing PeachTree. GS for foundies and GS# for lined. I name all foundations. Sometimes, I only name a foundation mare after we she gives me an intact foal. After that, I base all names on parents, whether it’s directly from parents or going back to the foundation stallion or mare. It just makes it easier for me to know, at a glance, which line each horse comes from.

    I haven't been on like I used to. Trying to though. But when I was I LOVED naming all my horses and tacking them up.

    @Bambi207 if ya need random names I'll gladly pm you a big list of random names that I'll test if they are available. I quite miss naming a big batch of horses. Hopefully this breeding season can change that.
