Been having a really hard time lately with life in general. I had my son 9 weeks ago, my first baby, and it’s a lot harder and lonelier than I expected. I thought my family and boyfriend would be around more to help me and spend time with me. The only person I talk to is my baby and he can’t even talk back. I feel like I don’t know who I am or what I’m doing and I don’t really have any friends. I’m just really unhappy and feeling lost. I need some cheering up, so I decided to do a small giveaway!

Here's my favorite girl this season, she's not flashy but she's the first 2G Blue papered mare I've bred myself from my own horses and I was super surprised when she papered blue! SO Happy!

The Great Snow 2 Het DP M

He's just SO pretty and from my fav breeding pair! I am mostly breeding liver pearls but then one of my mares surprized me with two buckskin pearls in a row! I love them so much that I now have a subline just for them(het DP,Kit M buckskin pearls) and depending on how the next week goes I think that he will be my main stud for that new line!

I am sorry you are having a tough time. As a Mom of two I can relate a little. My kids are 8 years apart, which I love, but it was starting all over again. I remember after my daughter was born, I took her to the Library when she was about 2.5 years old and suddenly realized I had not read a book since before she was born. Which was so unlike me. With both of mine I 'lost' myself for a few years. My son is just now two and I am begining to do the things I loved before. It is sad how fleeting those first years are, even though they feel long at the time! They are only little for a very short period, and you will find yourself again soon. I'm here if you ever want to chat!

I'm not much on posting exciting foals, but your message made me want to share! This is the only foal so far this year that made me really pause. With most of my stock getting the snip he came out superior to sire + all of his parents colorful genes. Plus he is a liver chestnut in result of breeding two bays! Luck was really on his side!

I have a 9 month old and I definitely am here if you ever want to talk! The first year is a LOT of adjusting to yourself and other relationships bc the dynamic changes so much.

I was torn between two fillies but this one papered blue. I wasn’t expecting a grullo app from this mating but I was so pleasantly pleased. She will fit well in my black/grullo line well! My ID is 254117

My little dude will be three soon, and I still don't feel like myself some of the time... And I definitely remember the isolation feeling - none of my friends have kids, and they just didn't get it lol.
I felt horrible about it, but was so relieved to get back to work (still feel that way every Monday, both horrible and relieved), because at least at work I go back to a routine.

Becoming a mom is hands-down the most challenging thing I've ever done (and I didn't become a mom until I was 32). Mine are 2yo and 9mo so I'm right there with you in the sleeplessness and isolation. It DOES get better, though. It feels like forever when you are in this season, but you will look back in a couple of months and be amazed at how much your little one (and you!) have grown. The struggle to make time for yourself is real, but remember that self-care is not selfish! My happiest time is taking my kiddos out on long walks - they are amazingly quiet and entertained outside, and I get some much-needed exercise and a chance to listen to a podcast or music.
If you really feel depressed or anxious - definitely mention that to your doctor or your baby's pediatrician! They want to help, but they can't help unless you let them know what is going on. There is no shame in feeling overwhelmed in this season and asking for help.
That being said - please reach out if you need someone to talk to! ♥️

This baby is my favorite, because her dam is my favorite horse in the game, and although she failed SBA, she’s just so stinking cute!

Best of luck with your new addition to the family! You got one thing wrong in your post though - you have tons of friends, us! I know it’s not the same because we can’t come over for a cup of tea or to help with the baby, but we should do something like plan to have tea/coffee at the same time one day & imagine that we’re enjoying it together instead of countless miles apart.

The best advice I can give you is to take it one day at a time. As a stay-at-home mom of an almost one year old I can relate. I remember the first couple months feeling as if my body no longer belonged to me. Just remember to take time for yourself as well, even if that is just a bubble bath while your boyfriend holds the baby.

I remember from my nephews and niece that this is a really tough time for moms. I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job, though. Hoping for good things for you and your baby boy! Sent you a couple goodies :D

This guy is my very first 4th gen! He only papered B, so he's a show pony, but he's super cute and a male line descendant of Mr Marvelous Milestone. Plus I just love when White 3 has that smear-y, mottle-y effect.

I have two kids myself ages 10 and 8 now but when they were babies my husband worked long hours and night. I don't have any friends where I live and just had my mom to talk to and she got tired of my constant calls after awhile, she never said as much but I could tell by the tone of her voice. It was really hard, since my husband would be sleeping most days and then I also had them all night as well. I sometimes felt like a single parent even tho my husband was just down the hall sleeping. I also had 2 c-sections and it was really hard, and I was isolated a bit. I wasn't allowed to drive for awhile due to the surgeries so getting out of the house was nearly impossible. It does get better and once they hit about 3 it starts hitting you how fast time is flying by. Hang in there, and know there are lots of us willing to listen if you need to vent. Also I second on taking a nice warm bath. ♥

I couldnt pick between two of my foals, I am newish to the game so don't have anything super exciting but these two came out really pretty in my honest opinion, considering my current breeding stock anyways.

I got my first crop of Leu grandfoals this season, and I'm loving how they cam out. It's hard to narrow down to just one, but I *think* it might be this guy. He got both the onyx and the watercolor, and two copies of PATN. His spots aren't super tiny like one of his half brothers. He should be able to throw a wide variety of options if he should stay intact.

This is my favorite foal from this season, he papered lower than I would have liked but he is exactly what I want out of my snowflake line. I absolutely love how he looks, and he is even breed which is something new to me, in terms of breeding goals.

I spent quite a long time toiling over my babies, trying to decide on which one to pick. I finally settled on this gal. She's one of the first of (hopefully) many sabino 2 babies. She's such a perfect little buckskin, and a big, big girl, which is exactly what I love. I try to pretend that I mainly breed chestnuts but I have such a soft spot for cream horses- especially perlinos that they just seem to slip into my pasture every now and then, giving me plenty of lovely buckskin babies. I'm absolutely thrilled that I finally bred a sabino 2 stud, and I'm even more thrilled about his babies. I love the unique, irregular markings this gal has, as if she's truly been splashing around in paint. If a sucker for solid horses with a lot of chrome.

Coming from a mother of three teenagers, enjoy these years that he can't talk back to you. They learn to talk all too quickly and then you can't shut them up. I also know that you're doing great. It's not easy being a full time mama, but always remember to make a little you-time. Whether it's napping or reading a book when he naps or hiring a babysitter and going out for a little fun, it's important that you get a break once in awhile.

Also, here's my newest show baby, she's all sorts of pretty, but didn't paper well.

I think I had a harder time with my third daughter. Not so much with being lonely, but I thought after my first two we were done. :D she was a surprise baby. :)) I was so frustrated doing everything with her for the first few months. Diapers, bottles, middle of the night feedings...it was all supposed to be done! It did pass though. She's a cuddle bug now and I enjoy ever minute of it.

My favorite stud colt from this season. He'll be my second gen mushroom/satin carrier.

Although she isn't terribly flashy compared to most, this girl is probably my favorite of the season so far because I love dark het browns and frame, and I think her expression came out really nicely!

This little filly is my favorite baby of the season. I am trying to breed for high quality chinchilla horses and she is one of the first steps. This game confuses me a lot but I feel like I am getting somewhere and it always gets my mind off bad things like my medical state right now. I hope you get to feeling better and everyone starts coming around more until then you have the community here myself included here for you.
