chose between papers or PT score?

    To pick the best of your next generation, do you prefer to choose paper level or PT level, or both? For example, I have several 2nd gen colts. Two Papered A with PT scores of 9.9. But 5 more papers B with PT score of 10 or higher. So I'm flipping coins on who to keep.
    I know it's a bit of individual preference, but there are too many cute ones to choose from.

    It depends on what you are keeping them for. Papers are determined by the horse's breeding ability, so your A papered colts are better breeders than the ones with B papers. PT score is determined by the horse's training ability, so higher PT horses will train longer and achieve a higher show score.

    To continue improving my lines, I keep my A papered colts as they are the better breeders. Geld those B papered colts and keep them to show.

    Papers tell you the horses breeding ability. PT scores tells you showing ability.

    They are not directly related (although if you breed higher papers you will get higher pt scores)

    PT is usually my last culling practice. After SBA, Inconsistency, colour, genetics, papers, comparison testing (against sire or dam), and comparison of genetics between brothers. Then narrow it down by PT is all those other steps still leaves me with more than 3 sons.
    Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
