    I made three black silvers in a row. First one no Sooty had easy to see dappled. Second one was het Soot, but the Dappels were still quite obvious. Then this mare homozygous sooty doesn't have any dappling. Is there hidden gene? Or just the homozygous sooty?

    Dapples are just a random chance - nothing in the genetics (at least in-game). I agree with LCorona, rerolling will (eventually) get you dapples.
