Anybody Else's Luck Like This With Stallions?
-
I've once again got a second A papered stallion out of a B/Red cross in the pastures. However, I have no mares for them... :-w I've got plenty of Red mares but I NEED blue mares from my lines. I hope before my dude gets too old he'll as least give me one Blue mare. Has anybody else have such good luck with one gender but not the other and in this case with stallions?

Yeah my Studs usually come out as A more often then I get mares that come out Blue. But lately, I've had some luck. I'd suggest getting a pasture for your foundations (I split mine between Reds and Yellows) and just collect as many as you can and breed them to a good stud, I did it this season and got a bunch of Blue/A foals!

@GildedFire thanks but I'm trying to make my whole line from these parents.
@kgstable they are all in a pasture, I just haven't had any luck...sucks cause I mostly get stallions that all pass and paper B but have only gotten a few mares that all pass and paper Red. For me it really is just waiting for that good and lovely luck. -
I have the same problem! Plenty of A stallions. Not enough blue mares.
I did discover that I can sometimes get SBA passing foals from some of pasture red mares and an A stallion. -
I have more A stallions than blue mares. Seems more colts are A than fillies are blue for me :(Licensed in chinchilla, mushroom & splash M

I think it's the letdown of yet another stallion that makes it seem so uneven. :))

@bluchrystals I think your right. Another thing is I think we all have bad luck too, lol!

Human perception is often crazy inaccurate. Most likely you're getting even numbers, but perceiving them as uneven because they are not lined up with the numbers we all wish we were getting, ie a few nice A papered gen 2 colts and a bunch of Blue fillies. We wish it was uneven the other way, so even numbers feel uneven.
Also, in small numbers, one random one going one way vrs the other can skew the whole thing. 50-50 odds doesn't mean every group will be 50-50, it means that every individual has a 50-50 chance. In big numbers this evens out, but it small numbers it can kinda fall anywhere. More seasons and more foals, and it will even out
Or you can blame the Colt Fairy, whatever floats your boat, lol! :))Spiderweb Stables

I have two hundred pastures for my livers and every season I get approximately four A papered colts and two to three(sometimes four) Blue fillies. It's even just doesn't seem like it! Sorta like the gene crossings. Certain mares have the perfect genes for my lines, but going down through their foal list it always seems they drop colts with the 'perfect' pairings, never fillies. :))Post edited by bluchrystals at 2019-11-14 10:01:38
