I'm so sorry you having to go through this! I can't imagine having to think about selling your first 4 legged best friend...that sounds so heartbreaking! I've never owned a horse so I can't help you with tips or tricks cause I don't know the reality of how truly hard it is to keep a horse. Although I do know it's not easy and not cheap at all. But I wish you the best and have hope there's another option out there for you soon!♥️

My Heart Will Love

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. My heart is breaking for you. I lost my soulmate horse when he was only 7, and then I found my heart/soul girl. I couldn't imagine selling her. I truely hope things work out for you and your girl.

I dont really have any special projects but I am working on my DP line. Sabino and flaxen on black livers, frame on liver red duns, and havent figured out what to do with chocolate palomino yet. Maybe kitM? Splash? Tob? So many choices, lol. Even thought about adding some pearl to my het DP liver chestnut line. I can add pictures if you want. I hope my rambling helps a little.

My project is a bit different. I like Draft horses, in other words big bones and tall. For my Challenge Herd I started off with a total of 100 mares and 10 stallions that were Riding Ponies - that's right light boned and short! What I am doing is breeding each generation and keeping the biggest boned and tallest as I go along, while at the same time keeping quality by ensuring that paper levels increase at a reasonable rate each generation.

This season I bred my first 7th gen horse that passed SBA. Her bone is just over 2 so that's half way through the medium boned size and although she is pony sized she is a tall pony.

This boy is my current project (besides a bunch of mares being tweaked). I am really hoping to add W3 to him now because it is my new obsession but we will have to see if it roams through, because my little 50k a day is NOT going to buy it ahaha I am also teasing the idea of boosting him because I am having a lot of fun playing with others boosted foundation lines.

Thank you everyone. I've had alot of friends at my barn tell me I should really hold off on deciding to sell her, since it would really make my mental state alot worse since she means so much to me.. It's still up in the air, it more so boils down to if I can really afford to keep her. My depressions been horrible the past month or two, and going out to the barn hasn't even been enjoyable for me. All i want to do when i'm home is curl up in my bed and sleep. Depression sucks and I wish it wasn't ever a thing.

devstruesel - I am in LOVE with your boy. You should totally try adding a boost. I would add it to more of my horses if I could afford it! If you ever sell straws let me know.
