yeah, but they aren't my accounts. I don't understand how the game would know we're related to eachother.

The system is set up to block that kind of sharing because it can't tell you apart from the rule breakers that swap horses between their own accounts.

Do you and your sister live in the same household? If that is the case, your accounts should be under one email address and you are not able to swap horses between the accounts. It would be OK to find a third player to help you swap horses between one of you and a friend as long as she doesn’t live with either of you.

Should I have her delete her account and just share mine with her?

She can have her own account no problem. You just can't share horses between them because it looks like cheating to the system. We can have a system that allows lots of cheating which is very damaging to the game's economy or one that overaggressively prevents it. Who chose to aggressively prevent it. It catches a few false positives but no one really needs to share horses between accounts.

She will have to grow her herd and her breedings/goals just as you did
