Is the sabino supposed to replace other kit genes?
-
I have made several creates that should have had one kit gene already, but the sabino replaced it. Is this supposed to be happening?
Here is an example.

Yup! The het sabino overwrites the het whatever other kit gene. If the HH was hom for a kit gene, the horse would have bothSpiderweb Stables

Hmmm. On some of the creates, I was hoping for the sabino to be an additional kit gene. :-SCraven Hill - 86081

A horse can only have 2 KIT genes, so one would have to be replaced. Rabicano, appaloosa, splash, and frame are all white markings that aren't KIT genes though, so you can get a lot of flashy white horses that have two KIT genes plus other white markings.

I know they can only have two. What I’m saying is HH’s like an Exceptional Producing Tobiano should have had the sabino and the tobiano. However, the tobiano was completely overwritten.Craven Hill - 86081

"should have had the sabino and the tobiano"
That is not the case. The system can never work that way.
Het hh genes ALWAYS go on the maternal side for HHrs. Otherwise, you would never be able to get the random genes that always fall on the paternal side.Post edited by Ammit at 2019-11-30 12:50:14Need to contact me? Read this first.

See, I never realized that about genes always being on the maternal side for the HH’s. Now it makes sense. Thank you Ammit! :)Craven Hill - 86081

I never noticed that before! It’s neat how the system works.
