PT Scores
-
I have a star stallion with a 13.20 pt score how high would the mares pt score have to be to have a chance at a intact foal? Mine keep getting spayed/gelded I have been breeding him to low to mid Gold 12 PT scoring mares.

The mare's PT score makes absolutely no difference. That's her personal showing potential, just like his PT is only his showing potential and has no impact on his foals. To get intact foals, you'll want mares at roughly the same breeding potential as him. So Gold mares, at roughly the same level of Gold as his Star. It's difficult to guess that, and it gets more difficult to get intact babies at higher levels. My advice would be to use a pasture and not be disappointed in those spelds, they'll be fantastic show ponies and are plenty valuable.
The best method I can think of to get a Gold/Star pair at roughly the same level would be to count back how many generations ago in their pedigrees the switch from A/Blue to Star/Gold happened. Horses the same number of gens from that switch with the same testing used all along will probably be roughly the same breeding score. Maybe.
