This keeps happening to my horses, I had to sell one back to game, when I try to test them this message appears.
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '../db_fns.php' (include_path='.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php54/root/usr/share/pear') in /home/zkembric/public_html/ajax/breed_advice.ajax.php on line 3 :( :-SS

I find that if you try to do the testing too quick (before the page is fully loaded) this message (or a similar one) appears.
So maybe a few seconds waiting before you do the testing might work to solve it?

You could sell him publicly for much more than you’ll get from selling back to the game
