I prefer larger barns rather than having a ton of smaller barns and having to move horses all around.

I believe the strain is from the larger barns breeding as they can breed up to 500 pasture horses with 1 click of a button and if they have more mares still in there they can keep creating 500 foals at a time. The server then gets strained as it try’s to catch up on the influx of new foals but it isn’t always just one person creating their foals there can be any number of people also breeding their pastures at the same time
