I cleared out a full barn in auction, but I’m not even close to the hb limit :-))

I did that twice with the auction last week.

I sent a ton of older show horses and altered breeders to the auction. Realized the projected payout was over 10million and removed enough to be back under. Planned on cashing the money I had on hand in for IV’s to exchange for GMT’s for my SS but since I was also asking for some genes in exchange for HB’s I wanted to keep money on hand in case someone took me up on my offer.

Ended up taking my dog to the vets and last minute Christmas shopping with my mom I got home at 8:08 and was like crap the auction! 8 minutes lost me about 6 million.

I spent another 7 million on genes and horses but wasn’t quite done GMT’ing horses for my SS so I sent another barn of horses to the auction. Again carefully removed enough to not go over the cap. But then I was also working on finding more things on HJ2 since I mostly had everything I wanted on here already but was a little light on the gifts there. About 10pm I was like omg it’s auction day! So another 3 million gone.

Super expensive mistakes but I’m actually pretty ok with it. I got my daily bonus down to a much more reasonable figure, about 10k more than my target goal for probably the last 2 years.

I’ve also changed my foal culling practice a few months ago (as in actually culling foals instead of keeping them all) but it will take a while for the yearly horse decrease to work it’s way up the chain. For now I’m just going to send the 10+ year olds to the auction (maybe in smaller batches lol)

That’s my goal. I’d like to be able to enjoy the special ones.

Currently sending SBA failed and inconsistent foals to the auction and somewhat cherry picked through the 10+ Show horses trying to send just the show horses not the old breeders.

But I have around 7-900 mares in the pastures so still have a lot of show horses replacing the ones that leave because I cull based on colour and papers after I do SBA and Performance testing.

For the first time in years all of my horses are completely tested (including all my mares Comp tested) and have their breeding Prefixes added and sorted into their generations barns.

Next I want to thin out my stallions & 2nd Gen herds and need to rearrange my pastures to add all my new foundation studs to them. Also try to make a dent in my AI lab!

I’ve been trying to make embryos to clear out the logs but I end up giving up after a dozen. Of course now I have about 100 embryos to use now lol
