How many horses is “a lot”?
  • Just out of curiosity, what is considered a “lot” of horses in this game? 5000? 10,000? 20000?

Is there a limit on how many horses can be owned?

  • I have a little over 1000 and I thought that was a lot @-)
  • There's no limit, per se, but Ammit is working hard to get us to not murder the servers with our pixel pony hoarding. ;)
  • I have 1,821.
    And I’m a “smaller” barn. :O

I grow more every season, but I also cull a lot so I can try to keep my growth contained and manageable.
  • What would a large barn be considered?

I’m nearing my limit of 12,000 horses and I guess I’m debating on buying another barn or keeping it as it is. IF I’m one of the average barns then I might add more, but if I’m a larger barn, I don’t want to drag the system down by adding even more so I guess I was just trying to get an idea/average of sizes before deciding...
  • About 1k is starting to be in large barn territory.

10k and over would be mega barn sized. Extremely few users are that large.

  • I have just under 17k. I'm down from 20, I'm working really hard to get myself down to 10 to help out with the servers, and to reclaim my life (lol)
  • Ah ok. Thank you for the input/info. If I’m considered a larger barn then I’ll just stick with the size I have for now. I remember reading a post awhile back that the larger barns can make the system run slower. I hadn’t thought I was in that bracket so I’ll try to be more careful from now on.

  • Whoa! I have like 200 horses. Total. I felt like I was getting too many haha. I keep telling myself, "Stop buying horses at every single darn auction! You don't need more." and "Stop creating foundations every day!" I feel so little now, like I just have tiny baby barns.

  • I was at 21k before Christmas. :) I'm at 14.8k horses now, with another 2k in today's auction, and probably another 1 or 2k more in the next auction after that. I'm getting down there, slow but sure! :D

  • This may be a stupid question but how do you keep your numbers low but continue to get a good daily payout? I feel like the only way to be able to maintain a good payout is to keep horses or is there another way?
    Thanks :)
  • AWBreeding: Keep the horses that pays you the most pr stall. Exceptional show horses created with 300+ points as yearlings are actually super valueable, they outperform my sky high PT-herd until they are 10-12 HJ-years, only then is the high PT-horses (13+) starting to catch up with them.
  • I have about 6k horses and a daily approaching 210k. It's all in keeping high PT horses, showing daily, and when possible getting high pointed yearlings from new players.
  • I am a huge barn in a downscaling process. I downscaled with 1000 horses last year, and will do a bigger cull later this month/early next month, when real life gets easier.
  • Anything over 10k horses is definitely one of the bigger barns, Ammit had the higher returns on barn sell back recently to try and help people get back below 10k horses. It's easy once you have a that many horses to grow exponentially quite quickly!

  • I do a TON of culling every season. (Only keep a fraction of what I breed) and I’m still growing more and more every season!

GMTs being fewer IVs is good incentive to keep growth contained, though. More fun to buy those than barns!
  • I have just over 1k horses. I cant imagine having a five-figure herd. I find it hard to keep my current group of ponies straight as it is haha. And enjoy knowing my horses individually, naming them, hand choosing what pairs breed, etc... I'm sure I'll continue to grow but I'm hoping to not lose some of those aspects I enjoy.

  • I currently have 4,626 horses, and 9,875 non primary barn stalls. I sold back several barns last month to reduce my stall numbers below 10k. I consider that I have a fairly large stable and a lot of horses. I've enough of them that I have to keep an eye on my bank account to avoid hitting the 10 million hajibuck cash cap.

  • Thanks for this question. I have been buying and breeding a lot of horses, but I think now I will focus on really top quality with even lines and balanced colours. This makes me happy. :)
