I thought this would be safe and was way more concerned about the mares I have that are het or hom for frame....I though the sabino 1 was safe? Same with the splash? Was it the white 1? -

Based on the risk chart, I'd guess that yes, it was the combination of the W1 with the Sb1, and then maybe some bad luck to go with it. :(ID 253156 | Breeding for black-based greys with satin -
I'd say it was bad luck. W1 and SB1 combined gives a moderate risk of lethality according to the chart:

You did get unlucky, but the white 1 is the problem gene. White 1 has a low risk of lethality with tobiano and a moderate risk with sabino 1. I usually interpret to mean that extensive white factor is lethal for low risk crosses and large or extensive WF is lethal for moderate risk crosses. However the addition of splash increases the amount of white on the horse and potentially lowers the WF needed to result in a lethal foal.
