The idea of this game is to breed and sell horses. You make money by showing horses or selling horses (majority is from showing). You make horses by breeding them or by creating them on "create a horse" you have an option of creating special horses by activating your herd helper. If you accidently hit the ''X" on the herd helper don't worry it will come back at midnight when the game assigns you to a new herd helper. You show horses by clicking the arrow next to your horse that says "enter" then you will come to a page where you can select a your showing class. Then at 11 pm your horse will come back from the show and you can enter the horse again. Hope this helps you. I was very confused when I first started the game too don't worry you will get the hang of it.
