I need stopped! (BLM Mustang!)
  • I've been browsing the BLM Mustang auctions and I showed my husband a few that don't have bids on them and the auction ends tomorrow... He's not telling me "NO!"

    QUICK! SOMEONE TELL ME NO!
  • NO!

edit: unless you can justify it.

  • Do you already have horses?
Do you already have a place for the mustang that can meet their minimum approval checkmarks?

It'd be fun and amazing and totally worth it.... if you are already experienced, know a good trainer and have a reinforced spot for them.

    Yes

We have the ability to have it all, we would just need to tweek our fencing.. other than that, we have all the other check marks!

I think we've decided to wait until the next auction when we have time to fix the height of the fence and one of the next satellite pick up locations is only 2 hours away!
  • Gives you time to anticipate! :D
Best of luck to you and your future mustang! I currently have one that went through the Carson prison training program, he's an amazing horse.

  • That's where these current ones are at but none of them are handled which I think is a little weird but there's also a lot of horses there, they may not have the amount of inmates to touch all of them
  • I love mustangs! But as hard as my handled-from-birth APHA is to get broke, I’m not sure I’ll ever actually try it. :))

I just had the thought the other day, “Boy, I’m glad I didn’t get a Mustang.”

Turns out, I’m a bit of a pansy starting colts. I think retraining or finishing mostly broke horses is my jam.
  • Funny you say about your APHA being hard to break... My 10 year old paint mare is a butt to break! Literally, I had her broke probably 5 times and each time she reverts back to her non broke ways! I think I've all but given up.. I have one last go left in me and after that, I give!
  • My 19 year old APHA is a peach. We’ve been together 10 years, and she’s always taken such great care of me.

This young sucker I’ve got, though....
He’ll be a good horse. *If* I can get him over his buck and bolt crap.
