When Breeding...
-
So i know it says the longer a mare is in the pasture, the better her foal is. How long is long enough?
And when breeding directly instead of using the pastures, is this why barely any foals i get are intact, even though both parents are exceptional producers or exceptionally perfect? -
The pasture bonus increases for 30 days and then stays at that bonus amount as long as the mare remains in a pasture. If you move a mare from one pasture to another, she keeps her bonus. If you remove her from a pasture to your primary barn and then immediately into another pasture, she has to start all over again with 0 days in pasture.
The pasture bonus can help give you more intact foals. Higher breeding levels, on their own, do not increase the percentage of intact foals. They do, however, increase the likelihood of higher PT scores and breeding scores in the offspring. That's only a likelihood of higher scores; it is not a guarantee of them. You will still get a few foals that won't pass the Breeding Ability test.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2020-03-11 19:31:44 -
