Foals from uneven breeding are less likely to pass SBA,the farther you get generation wise, the harder it gets.

Many of us older players don’t like the look of it either (hello, ocd). I would never buy an uneven bred horse by generation, but that’s just me.

No it makes fewer pass BA too. Basically if you breed evenly and pay attention to quality, you can increase the quality of the horses you're producing (relatively) quickly. By gen 3-4 most of my snips have PT scores above 11 and I keep them for show ponies.
Uneven breeding tends to lead to quality all over the place, which makes it really hard to improve it. You don't have to care about this, you can totally breed for just genetics, your line just most likely won't produce much in the way of show ponies. And you'll have less and less that pass BA. Roughly. If you match paper levels it helps, but a second gen B who passes SBA and tests superior to sire is more evenly match to a second gen Red who passes SBA and tests superior to dam than to a Red foundation, even though they're both Red. There's a range of scores within each paper level

^ What she said! I would add: unless they have decent PT scores (I use 10.8 as my cut off) and you have room then keep them and let them work for you
