So!
My boyfriend and I recently found out we're expecting!
For reasons I'm not going to get into here, I found out at the 12 week mark, so I'm excited to say we could find out the gender as early as this next week (16 week appointment on Wednesday!)
If not next week then it will be next month!
Anyways, I'd like to do a little party here since I can't do one in real life thanks to quarantine restrictions!
What I want to do, is everyone can pick one of their horses to tack up.
If you think it will be a girl, then tack your horse to be girly (pink, flowers, get creative).
If you think it will be a boy, then boyish (blue?).
I think this could be a fun way to play with tack. Feel free to get creative with it !
There will be door prizes for everyone who enters (TBD) as well as prizes for everyone who guesses the correct gender. One random person who guessed correctly will get the grand prize as well as one that I pick as my favorite.
Lastly, the best name will get another small prize.
Please just have fun with this. And if I find out next week (would be Wednesday evening) I will be sure to update. Otherwise it will be a month from the next week at the 20 week appointment!

Congratulations! It sounds like you're really excited, so I'm very happy for you. :D (I was terrified for at least the first two weeks after we found out we were expecting lol. THEN I got excited.)

Yea no I went through my terrified phase.
I was filling out a thing to get to the doctor and accidently sent it to my mom's email (for some reason my phone autofilled it and I didn't catch it before I hit send) .. so I made my boyfriend call her :))
She was of course excited but I was still processing the information.... Haha
Now I'm still terrified but looking forward to seeing the little bean again on Wednesday! -

I definitely get the processing! We managed to keep it quiet until we were into the second trimester, but I was still having some days of panic and "we are so not prepared for this." Luckily, my mom was more excited than I expected (I honestly expected her to be mad/disappointed, even though we had been married for almost 10 years, and had a pretty stable living and all that), and my mom-in-law was absolutely over the moon. :) Seeing them happy about it was pretty reassuring, honestly. How exciting! Parenthood is definitely a journey of joy mixed with "What the heck have I gotten myself into?!" moments. It is so fun to see tiny humans discover the world - my kids have helped me slow down and notice the beauty in tiny things like lady bugs and pine cones. I've also learned more about myself in my almost-three years as a parent.
I'll stick with team girl this time - I'm terrible at guessing in person - my husband and I both thought our oldest was a girl, but we were wrong! However, when little sister came along, I knew from the start because she made me way more sick than her brother did!

Wow - thank you. I'm so glad you liked it. I breed warmblood or Draft horses. I dislike tobiano (don't know why) but am happy with anything else. I particularly like bay horses with sooty or S+ and appaloosas particularly if they carry PATN 1.
