Whew, finally got around to my freezer (somewhat)

  • Today, I finally waded into my freezer and used up the straws/eggs I got sent over the years from various people. Some straws I had sitting around for quite a while because I didn't have mares of appropriate generations/pedigrees to match before, but now I do, so I finally used those.

I still need to go through my freezer, though, and look at my old eggs and straws to see if they meet my new criteria.
  • Feels good doesn’t it.

I haven’t used the 771 embryos yet but I’ve mostly cleared out my freezers completely except for one last foundation stud, though I did use a bunch of his to create Actual foals so he won’t get an expiry date on his straws
Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
  • I wish there was a MASS delete button.

My wrist is tired from clicking that button over 700 times tonight so far.

I have 92 embryos in my freezer.

  • So far I've deleted 1,100 straws... one by one. So annoying.
  • What kind of straws?
I might be interested (depending on genes) if you're willing to sell some.
  • yes I would as well 0.0

  • *grumbles* Man, I wish there was a mass delete button. Would have been far more simple and time efficient. Clicking one by one wastes far too much time plus I don't have the best of Internet speeds either. Click. Wait for page to load. Click. Rinse and repeat. I could have been done with everything in less than one hour if there was a mass delete button. Sheesh.

Oh, since you ask, it was higher generation straws that I've been deleting. Their pedigrees no longer pass my muster since I now comp test mares, and those straws were from stallions I've had in the past that passed SBA, pedigree wise, but the dams in the pedigrees never were comp tested because it wasn't an option. I wouldn't sell straws from those. If they don't pass my quality checks why would I want to sell "poor quality" straws to others?
  • ah ok ; well some of us are starting bootstrap ( or bootleg ) depending on who you talk to for show ponies :) trying to get that PT score up :)

  • For bootstrapping, I think it would be cheaper and cost effective to use live stallions. Using straws are far more expensive compared to the cost of simply breeding in house at no cost to you with a live Star papered stallion.
  • Deleted another 450 straws, but wrist is still sore from all those manual clicks. Where's the mass delete button?!?

I have 600 more straws slated to be deleted, and I haven't gone through the list yet.
  • I *so* wish we had a mass delete button. My freezer wouldn't be so unorganized if we had one!
