Making Tattoos?
-
I’ve recently developed a broodmare culling plan, and it would be nice if I could put a tattoo on mares who I definitely want to keep for breeding so I don’t have to look at each mare’s notes when I need barn space.
I’m sorry if I’m just completely missing something, but could someone please tell me how to make a tattoo? Thank you!I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me! -
You will need a computer drawing or photo manipulation program. Gimp is one of the free ones available online. I know there are others that I have seen mentioned, but I don't remember their names.
The tattoos must be exactly 25x25 pixels in dimension and no larger than 15kb in file size. If you work in a larger dimension planning to shrink it to size, simple designs work best. A lot of complexity usually gets lost.
The tattoo needs to be stored on your device and then uploaded into your tattoo registry.
You can also ask if anyone is willing to make a tattoo for you. Several of us are willing to create tattoos for others and usually charge something in game money to do so. I'm one of them. :)Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2020-05-13 09:05:41Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
Thanks for the detailed answer! Could you possibly make one for me? I logged on this morning and got a surprise gift of 300K from a very kind member, so I’d be happy to pay you!
I could probably figure out how to do it, but it would take a while (I have to self-teach for most stuff related to technology).
I can PM you if that’s easier.
EDIT: Someone else has actually made one for me, but thank you so much for the offer!Post edited by Nightphoenix at 2020-05-13 09:41:25I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. You're very welcome. I'm glad someone got your tattoo made.

Actually, you don't need a fancy program that's going to cost you money.
"Gimp" is free, and much like photoshop.
"Paint.net" is also free, and simpler. This one is my preference, and if I need something done that can't be done in Paint.net, I simply tranfer it into my Photshop 7, make the changes, then transfer it back again.
I saved myself a lot of money by purchasing an older version of Photoshop, with works just as nicely. I use this primarily for skewing. (skew allows you to stretch one side of a texture at a time when something is slightly crooked. I don't think I explained skewing very well, you'd probably learn fastest from screen sharing.)
Sometimes I use good old MS Paint (yeah, THAT old thing) when i want to color or erase a few pixels at a time. Using this for editing pixel by pixel is easier.
I'm willing to make tattoos for you *if* someone will explain how you sell or transfer one you make to another person. I'm going to make this particular a post under my own name.
I've found lots of devs who are selling lots of wonderful stuff. What I can't find is a page that lets you request particular horses or strays or embryos.
Also if anyone wants tattoos for the gift, soon as i find out how to sell them, I'll donate a couple.Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2020-06-08 10:13:33
