So I have been trying to get a couple of my real life mares bred this year. One of them is my heart horse, she's a 13 YO maiden mare because I've been competing with her since she was 5. I have Arabians, so we've dabbled in Traditional and Western Dressage, Sport Horse, Hunter (Arabian hunter is boring IMO; neither of us were a fan of the roundy round classes), and trail. She's got more USEF, AHA, and PHR awards that I can count. Ok, so I've decided it's time to retire her from showing and try to get some babies out of her since I have my 3 year old stud colt to start riding.

I covered her 24 days ago. Good cover, but her first cover EVER, so I didn't have high expectations with it being early in the year for us in Texas and she's been teasing for the past week now. She's done EVERYTHING but let him mount on this second heat; I hand breed since he's like the most gentlemanly stud I've ever known, so I had the vet come out and ultrasound because I was starting to suspect a stuck follice. If this mare didn't have a perfect ~18 day vesicle today on ultrasound.

Guys, I want to cry, I'm so happy. We'll do heartbeat check in two weeks. If this is a filly, I will cry for days after it's born. *fingers crossed for pink*

Idk how many of y'all might recall my post a few months back about my TBI, but this is definitely helping take the edge off of the emotional roller coaster I've been on trying to get back to something that resembled my life before the fall.

TLDR; my heart horse is possibly ~3 wks pregnant. I want to cry tears of joy!
