Little red flag on my stable name?

At the line across the top of some of the pages it has your inbox, then your stable name. I usually have a little red flag with a number on it beside the stable name. I have no idea what this means or how to find it in my messages.

click the word that has the flag ; its either someone responding to a topic and usually adding the @ to get your attention or someone sent you mail :)

Found it. Click on the flag, then choose the tab discussions. it will bring up all your discussions that you've started and will show you which comments are new. Thanks everyone for helping.
