Can't put several horses in the pasture
-
I have 4 two year olds that I want to put in the pasture. They are all spayed mares, and there is room in the pasture. I tried 3 different pastures. Any ideas why?
-
because they are 2 ; mares have to be 3+ years old to go in pasture, and tbh spayed mares like geldings are your money earners ; they really should be kept in stalls

Since the pastures are intended for breeding, they don't take spayed mares or geldings, only intact horses.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

Darn, I thought I read somewhere the horse would train better in the pastures.

Mares gain pasture Breeding bonus up to 30 days when in pasture, if you move them in when they turn 3 they will be maxxed ready for their first breeding season.
Spay/Gelded horses get training bonuses for Showing.
Breeding from AI Lab gives equivalent of 15 day pasture bonus.HJ1: 266615

No, while the mares in the pasture keep their existing points, and those points count towards your daily showing bonus, they cannot get more points because they don't train. The intact mares get bonuses to their BREEDING ability (cumulative up to 30 days), but not training.
Altered horses do get a substantial training bonus, but can't live in the pastures. It's a trade off.....breeding bonus (mares in pasture) or training bonus (horses living in the barns. You get one or the other but not both.Post edited by ConfluenceStable at 2020-06-13 14:59:03
