Embryo Collection
-
Thanks to the amazing gifts from Maribo, I have created so many embryos waiting for the new breeding season. This is the most I have ever stored... 101 and I still have more to make. This breeding season will be busy. How many embryos do you have stored?
-
holy wow ; @Humboldt ; tbh I haven't quite figured out how to do that with a basic upgrade
-
I love playing in the adv breeding lab. Making embryos is fun, sometimes I pick random crosses but most times I have planned pairings for specific genes like KP or Satin.
-
so my question is since I can't USE eggs as a basic can I still harvest them? and then create / plant embryo's in surrogate mares?
-
I don't know what the basic upgrade gets you as far as embryos. I've always had the premium.
-
@annismyrph: no you cannot harvest eggs, that is a premium only feature.
With a basic upgrade you can pair an unbred mare with a stallion straw under the 'create an embryo' page. Then an embryo is created (basically 'inside' the mare which is then harvested, as opposed to unfertilized eggs I guess).
You can then implant an embryo into another open mare (not bred) on the 'implant an embryo' page.
Like eggs, you can create an embryo every 5 days. However, as soon as you live breed you mare (live cover her, straw breed her or use her as an embryo transfer mare to implant another embryo) you cannot create embryo's from her.
Edit: I just checked, I have over 700 embryo's stored oh my..Post edited by MasterStablesMS at 2020-06-30 07:58:41HJ1 160524

LOL @MasterStableMS ; ok thank you I am guessing I can purchase embryo's from others as well ; so if by chance you have any Blue Appy or Roan's I d be happy to get some of them from you :)
-
Yep you can indeed buy complete embryo's from others! I'll go and see what I have, I do not have roan I'm afraid but I might have some blue appy's. If I have any I'll send them your way :)
Edit: I could not find any embryo's that would make a blue roan or blue appy, but I did send you some straws from some black based horses, some who are blue roans themselves, some have appy and some are just for quality.Post edited by MasterStablesMS at 2020-06-30 08:21:39HJ1 160524

MasterStables, 700 embryos??!! Wow!
-
I don't have any stored right now. I think the most I have had saved at one time is arouond 400, but I'm pretty sure I have produced more than 1000 lab-babies in a month (more than once :)) ). I usually do a "lab-season" every other season or so :PID 195859

Oh gosh that's a lot of embryos! Between flushing and implanting how much does each one end up costing?
-
It depends. If you pull a single egg its 3000 for the pull + 200 to make the embryo + (I think) 8000 to implant. Not sure about the last one as it doesnt show out of season.
If you do a mass flush it depends on how many eggs you get. It costs 30K to flush, and you get between 8 and 14 eggs, so each egg is somewhere between 2143 and 3750. Then add to make the embryo, and implant it.ID 195859 -
Implant is 4k? I think...lol.
-
@pinkie
Here's a breakdown of the cost of one lab baby when you own both parents.
500 hbs to pull the straw
and then A:
3,000 hbs to pull the egg and
2,000 hbs to combine egg and straw and create an embryo
or B:
5,000 hbs to create an AI embryo
which totals the same and has the same outcome, you just add in the straw and get an embryo immediately. Then:
4,000 hbs to implant in a surrogate mare.
So your total is 9,500 hbs per foal.
This comes from this post I made a while back, which @annismyrph might find helpful

Also I currently have 175 embryos sitting in my freezer. I made a bunch a few seasons back out of straws from some favorite studs that were aging out, that way I could use a bunch of straws and then collect more from them before I lost themSpiderweb Stables

@taliesin ; so I CAN make an embryo from my own mare and implant it in my own surrogate but I cant buy an embryo? did I read that right?
-
No, you can buy an embryo. You just can't buy eggsSpiderweb Stables

Zenith was my amazing Summer Santa! I have 130 embryos I need to start implanting. I can't wait to see what they become!
