Paper Level/Superior Question - Answered!
-
Say I breed two red/B papered foundations and the foal papers A/Blue. Does that automatically make the foal superior or is there still a possibility they test aga?
Just trying to save a little money on comparison testing if possible, but want to ensure that all of my studs are superior!Post edited by LadyhawkeStables at 2020-07-01 10:08:01 -
I think it's still possible to get an aga.
-
The answer is both.
A is always better than B, blue is always better than red.
There is some overlap in testing, however, so it is possible that they might test AGA because they aren't significantly better.Thanked by 1Ammit -
Ive had a few aga’s that still papered up- specially when parents are on the high end of red/B, then the foals just barely make it into Blue/A but still close to as good as parents.Westworld's ID# 253654

Thank you all! I had been testing my ponies that papered up and was consistently getting superior so just wanted to double check!

One thing though- I'm pretty sure in the highly specific situation of the compared parent being an ExPro or ExPerf foundation (B/Red papered, no boosts), an A/Blue offspring will always test superior. An ExPro is a specific breeding score- 105, I think- and all ExPros have that score, and that score is far enough from that A/Blue line that it's pretty common for B/Red offspring to test superior. An ExPro can't be a higher B/Red, they can only be that score. So a foal that's higher enough to be A/Blue is more than higher enough to be superior.
But in any other situation, this doesn't apply. For instance, a Perfect foundation is a score of 100, which is a C/Yellow. Add a 1% boost and you're at 101, which is B/Red, but still within the range of about as good as in the testing. So you'll get B/Red offspring from C/Yellow foundies that only test AAGA all the time.
Important note - this is what I've reasoned out myself, and may well be wrong. But I think it's rightSpiderweb Stables
