How to darken a horse?
-
The guidebook has lots on genetics, but a lot of it went over my head. :( I would like to darken the coat just a little so the diamond sparkles will show a bit. Is there any chance I could just change only one gene? alternatively, just change it to a black (with the diamond of course)

Removing the champaign gene would darken them up a lot.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Yep! Removing the champagne would help. If you want the horse really dark you'll also want to add sooty and DP.

You have to get rid of her foal first too. Sell it back to the game.

Good catch @Humboldt
If you remove the champagne, her base color will probably look a bit like these ones:
10988659
Z2 11058557

If you take the dun off and leave the champagne, you'd get something like this:
7765036
And if you removed both the dun and the champagne, you'd be about here:
SD Doubtful Blue
PF XP 7406639
WK Fast Strike
Whatever you do, each copy of sooty or DP you add will make the color a shade or two darker. All my examples here have no sooty or DP, like your mare.
To make her black you'd have to remove the dun, champagne, silver, and change her A to an aPost edited by Taliesin at 2020-07-10 05:41:58Spiderweb Stables
