as someone who is currently doing it this is what I was told : you get a High PT / Paper Stud and you breed him to Foundation mares ; geld all the colts ( they become showponies for you if you have the space ) and breed the fillies back to Papa when they are old enough ; it was a great way for me to jump up my PT / Paper scores ; on the fillies you do NOT test for BA or SBA and only test for PT and paper.

I had found the auction can be a good place to get high PT/breeding level mares for a fairly cheap price. If you sort auction horses by "PT score" or "paper level" you should be able to see the best offerings of the auction. Players will also periodically offer culls from their barns on the sales section of the forum.

I'd also be willing to give you two mares older than three from my bootstrap barn, if any of them take your fancy.
