Opinion on red 3G mares
-
I have a few 3rd gen mares that I was expecting to paper blue, as they have boosted horses in their line and are by an A papered stud who is superior to his A papered 5% boosted sire.
I'm unsure what to do with them now, as I really only want Blue papers in 3rd generation. Should I keep them and try breeding them to higher quality stallions to raise their papers or spay them?
these are the mares in question:

and then I have this 2g mare who was blue papered until last season, when I accidentally repapered her and she went red :( both her parents are 5% boosted ex perfect foundations, and she's the only mare I have like that, so I am a bit sad about her. should I keep trying to breed her, or spay and yum?

The last mare - her quality didn't change. The paper did.
Mare papering is based off of the quality of the foals they produce. Get rid of the foal that brought her down and it'll come back up.
But no matter what the paper says, you know she's in that area where blue and red overlap.
As to the others, do you like their foals well enough to keep them? Are their PT's higher than the last generation? If so, why worry about the paper? :)

I do as Gael said, if all I have from them are spays and gelds, then I alter them and keep for showing. If I have an intact then I'll keep them around another season or two to see what I get and how well their offspring does. If they aren't very good then I have an alter party.

I keep red 3rd gen papered mares but I expect their foals to paper A if colt or blue if filly.

I spay most red gen3 mares, even ones that started from normal creates. That said I do that to keep my numbers down as much as anything else, and usually keep the red mare's foals to see how they do before yumming
