  • OK so I get the RS are higher PT higher breed ability and rare - er but I d really like to know how / why the others are broken out the way they are ?
like Rank 1 HOM Black vs Rank 5 Exceptionally Perfect Black ?
I get rank 5 is EX Perf but I guess I am asking what caused the rankings to start ?

  • My assumption was it's an easier way for people to understand the type of HH they have, i.e Rank 5 is more valuable genes, or ExPro/ExPer, and then going down the ranks you get less valuable genes but more consistent (i.e they are the same as normal creates but guaranteed colour) and you get more creates for each HH.

  • Rank specials are either Perfect Foundations or Exceptional Producers or Exceptionally Perfect. The latter two are always mentioned in the description of that particular Rank Special. If nothing exceptional is mentioned in the "triggered" list, then the horse will be a Perfect Foundation.

Generally speaking, the higher the Herd Helper's rank, the rarer its combination of color and pattern or breeding ability percentage (that is: Exceptional Producers will have a breeding ability somewhere between 101% and 104%, variable PT scores and may be consistent or inconsistent. Exceptionally Perfect will have PT of 10.4, breeding ability of 104%, and 100% consistency). Perfect Foundation have 100% breeding ability (top of C/Yellow), 100% showing ability (PT 9.9), and are 100% consistent.

Most Herd Helpers produce ordinary create horses with specific color or pattern characteristics. Their showing and breeding ability will vary, unless something about that is mentioned in the Herd Helper description. Some Rank 5 Herd Helpers create exceptionally perfect horses, some of them create Exceptional Producers, some of them create horses with a complex assortment of color and/or pattern genes. My herd helper today is one of the latter: Gold Champagne Splash Tobiano--one rarer color--Gold Champagne and two separate pattern genes--Splash and Tobiano.

  • Before Ammit introduced the Daily Herd Helper she asked us what colours we bred for, without telling us why she was asking. :) I'm guessing she took that into account when ranking the HHs, but I really don't know that for sure.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure.

  • I thought exceptional producers were exceptional producers lol! So 105% breeding ability, same as exceptionally perfect. Exceptional show horses are exceptional showers, same as ExPerfects.

But yes as I understand it, the other ranks are just higher the more rare the genes are
