New ipad now new pencil

I just bought myself a new Ipad which has now taken almost all my extra money, I would like to get a pencil. But I can't really afford the 200.00 it will cost to get one. Now my question is, would the generic ones work just as good? I have seen them for about 50.00-60.00.
What do other ipad users use?

I’m no help. I have an old 2nd gen Mini and use a touch screen stylus. :))
My finger on my iphone do a better job than that. :))
