B.A Question
-
Hello all,
I was just curious as to if there is a method to making sure that most of the foals produced will go on to pass the tests? It seems like I have a bunch of foals every year and only a handful pass all of the tests. What should I be doing differently? Do I cull the mares that give me foals that dont pass? Thank you for any insight. -
if you keep your mares in pasture they give a bonus to the foals ; the higher the generation that you are breeding from what i ve seen the less likely they wiill be superior to the parents and pass BA.
Everything is done on a score base with random numbers ; there is a fantastic article by Confluence Stables that should be near the top of your " discussions" list called "Basic information for new players " it will help you with a lot of your questions
Thanked by 1pickabreed -
Its ok to not pass Breeding Advice. Those are your show ponies and your money makers. Even the best mares make foals that don't pass breeding advice.
Best chances are to match paper levels. C stud to yellow mares, B to Red, A to Blue, Star to Gold. Both mares and studs can make foals over a range of showing and breeding abilities. Breeding advice rules out the bad breeders so you aren't wasting $ breeding terrible horses that won't earn you $.Thanked by 1annismyrph
