I merged a Freaky Friday into a Cherry Drop. I was intended the Cherry Drop to be the primary set and the Freaky Friday to be the secondary, since the secondary set shows more in a chimera.

Unfortunately, somehow the Freaky Friday ended up the primary set and the Cherry drop the secondary, in spite of the horse keeping the Cherry Drop tattoo and name. If I had known this was going to happen, I would have started with the Freaky Friday and kept her tattoo. :(

Why did it happen this way this time? The last time I did a Chimera, the deleted horse was the secondary set. Is there any way to fix it?

In thinking about it, I kind of like how she ended up. (Although I wish she had the freaky Friday tattoo) If I decide not to modify her further, I guess she’s fine as is. But I’m still wondering how it happened and if there is a way to control which set becomes the primary.

No there is no way to control it. The first set of DNA in the database becomes the first set of DNA on the horse. Potentially I could set it up to try and order by your inheritance percentage. Not sure on a time window or if that would work though.

Oooooooh. So the horse created first becomes the primary set? Interesting. That helps me know what to expect now. And also explains why it worked the way I expected the last time I did it.

The cherry drop was created after the FF. So apparently I should have been patient and waited for Friday. :p
