OMG! They’re all so beautiful!

I don’t want to test them though! I know they’ll get Spayed! All my most beautiful ones end up getting Spayed!

When you bootstrap, you shouldn't test them, because they'll barely ever pass Breeding Advice. Since their lines are uneven, they most likely won't pass. If you're continuing to bootstrap, just don't test them and you'll be solid!Formerly OscarWildin

LOL. I don’t even know what Bootstrapping is! I’m just trying to breed some Homozygous Snowflake Appies.
-
Bootstrapping is pretty much the breeding of uneven lines usually for the purpose of getting higher PT show horses! You don't usually test your bootstrapping foals so that you can continue to breed them even though none would probably pass BA and it is used to build a good show heard! Hope that helps a little!Post edited by HorseAngel at 2020-10-21 21:07:58Celestial Angels, The Balinor Breed! We Specialize In Riding Horses & Ponies!

Thank you! I absolutely love my new foals. Unfortunately I accidentally tested a few and they got Altered but the ones I posted I refuse to test. LOL They just too pretty to have them get altered.
-
you can turn off testing to stop your self from doing it accidently
-
Probably a Stupid question but do I have to turn off testing separately on each one or is there a way to turn off testing on all horses?
-
i think its in 2 places ; 1 is the bottom of the barn page ; you just click the boxes on the horses line and then at the bottom of the barn page is a thing saying " TURN OFF ALL TESTING"
the other is on the indidviual horses page ; on Control Panel ; Turn off Testing -
OK. Thank you

Got to love a season of of beautiful foals!!
-
Kintara - Oh Yes! I got a few colts too. 2 of which I’m thinking of switching to be fillies because I love their coloring so much.
-
I wrote a really long post and it disappeared lol!! So I apologise for being blunt. My first version was much nicer..
We all love pretty foals, but what are you keeping them for? To look at? Bootstrapping is putting high Star stallions on lower quality mares to get higher PT show horses. You are not bootstrapping. The first foal I looked at is by a B papered stallion (who is from an A papered stallion) to a foundation mare. Honestly on that sort of low quality breeding I'd just BA the foals, otherwise you might end up breeding below 10PT and thus not much showing results. But hey, there are no rules, breed how you want, you just asked for advice is allThanked by 1Nightphoenix -
Actually I really didn’t ask for advice if you look at my Original post. I just posted my fillies and said that I didn’t want to test them because I know they’ll get Spayed. Then Oscar mentioned Bootstrapping and I said I didn’t know what that was. As I’ve said a few times now I’m only trying to breed some Homozygous Snowflake Appaloosas. Nothing more, Nothing less!
-
If you breed a little more evenly and match paper levels then your foals have better chances of passing BA and you get higher quality horses that way but you can always just breed for pretty too and not test them! ;)Celestial Angels, The Balinor Breed! We Specialize In Riding Horses & Ponies!

The first few I just bred to whatever I could find that I thought would produce Homozygous Snowflakes. The last few I tried to match Paper Levels as best as I could but seriously it’s not easy finding ones that match Paper Level wise. LOL However as I said a few times now I’m really only breeding them to get Homozygous Snowflakes. I don’t really care too much about the Paper Levels. I’m NOT going to be testing them!

Fair enough HarmonyC, all good!
-
@HarmonyC ; please just be aware alot of people on here wont buy an uneven bred horse ; and yes they DO check the pedigree page :) not trying to be hurtful just helpful ; i ve a ton of 2g and 3g HOM Snowflake studs ; if you give me an idea of what you are trying to breed for ?Thanked by 1Nightphoenix

annismyrph - As I’ve said a few times now I’m just breeding Snowflake Appaloosas. I don’t recall saying that I was breeding them to sell them. I’m breeding them for myself because I think they’re pretty. Also thank you for the offer but I’m really not needing Studs unless they match up better to the mares that I have. However I will not be testing the foals so I don’t know if that really matters.
