I was thinking of buying a stud that already has 500 straws pulled. Am I able to pull any more from him next season or is 500 the max for a stallion.

I’m gonna bump this, I always thought we had a 100 limit on pulled straws, so if it says 500, I’d really like to know too! :-)

Premium Accounts can pull more ; Basic upgrade is 100

Yes, I do believe that 500(for a Premium Account) is the max you can pull with out using any of them! After that I don't think you can pull anymore (correct me if I'm wrong) :-/

If you buy him you will not be able to pull a single one. Probably ever because you have a basic upgrade. . I would strongly caution you against making such a purchase if you want to use straws.

A basic upgrade has a limit of 100 straws so no a basic account would not be able to pull any straws until they were almost used up and by then the stud would most likely pass away

so I take that 500 is the max for a stallion no matter how many times he may have changed ownership then?

@Forestshadow Yes, the 500 is all his straws combined (if the owner has a premium upgrade).

So why would an owner be selling a stallion, usually for over a 1million that has already pulled a max of 500 straws when you could never pull more unless they use some up? You could never be able to get your money off of him.
Doesn't seem fair.

True, but as Sheeba said, it does seem a bit unfair. Generally when I buy a stallion from someone else to add outside blood to my lines, I expect to be able to pull straws for my own use.

Yes, I would also prefer to be able to pull straws, and I guess thats the reason why it now says how many straws have been pulled :)

That is what the game now warns you clearly if a listed horse has pulled straws. It has been a very rare issue over the years in the game but some sellers have hid the fact that they pulled straws.
