I'm trying to decide if I want (read: need) to add hearts to my new foundation boy here. I was hoping satin would come up in the RGS this month, and I guess there's still a chance it will, but I literally named this guy Valentine last month before I even realized this was coming.

Basically my dilemma is kind of dumb, but I'm trying to figure out if I want to put fantasy genes on him at all or leave him kind of "natural."

I haven't quite figured out how hearts will show up on him, either. It looks like it shows up on pigment and not on white spots? I think?

I think hearts would look wonderful on him!
The phantom genes warp the white markings to look like the gene so he'll have hearts in his Kit M

He would look beautiful with hearts I think but is also really nice now too and would certainly be a looker with Satin! I would add it for the name sake too lol, but the choice is yours! :)

Most of the Phantoms need a white gene to be expressed yes but Some of the Phantoms don't follow the rules and actually show up on the horses coat all over there body, as with Phantom Autumn (leaves show even with out white genes) and Phantom Lace (lace covers there coat not just the white markings). I think your right and Phantom Hearts follows there lead too. So his Hearts shouldn't show just in his Kit M and the hearts are both light and dark colored on the body from what I have seen.

The hearts phantom gene adds hearts the same color as the light and dark parts of your horse, and spreads them randomly all over his coat! :) So he’d have cremello and white hearts scattered over him. It’d be super cute!

Okay, I'm sold. I'm going to have to do that and cross my fingers for satin to come up for sale soon cause I don't have enough GMTs for it.
