On the top left click on "my barns".
If you are new then you only have the Primary Barn. That is where that link will take you. If you haven't bought any horses yet there won't be any there. You can look down under the blue "community" tab, click there then the 3rd option is Search Horses. You can define the search to find some for sale. OR you can click on the top under "my barns" is "create a horse". You can choose to use your herd helper or dismiss it and create a random horse. It does take a bit to get to know your way around but it is well worth it. I have been addicted to this game since 2006 ;)
