New Player, help?

Hi! I was wondering what the best way to get started in this game is as far as making hb? I also saw that it is a good idea to get show horses, should I get some and where can I get them? Thanks in advance!

Right now is breeding season (it ends on the 27th I believe), so breeding any mares you have and then putting the babies into the auction is how I am going HBs at the moment. The downside to this is that it takes a lot of space because the horses that have been put in auction have to stay in your barn, or they won't be auctioned.Thanked by 1ImperialCreations

Well long term you need show horses. If you look at any of the older players you will notice they all have one thing in common, massive show barns. The show horses pay for everything. The only thing with show horses is you’ll need lots of barn space, and it takes some time before they start paying for themselves and everything else you need and want in the game.
Short term there are two methods for new players, creating and selling pointed creates. Pointed Foundations/Creates are horses that are created with a random number of points. All other horses in the game have to earn points by showing, which is a longer process. The special thing about pointed creates is that only players who have less than 20,000 points total can make them. Us players who have been playing the game a while find those pointed creates highly valuable and will pay a good chunk for them which in turn helps new players get the $$ they need go get going.
Now certain Herd Helper creates are more valuable and desired than others. Perfect foundation, exceptionally perfect, super consistent, and exceptional show horses to name a few. Most players who are looking for pointed creates are looking at the amount of points they have, their total lifetime payout, and how much they are for sale for. Personally I prefer 1-2yr olds because I can have them for longer than older horses. Now what you should sell them for depends on a couple things. What is their daily payout, and how fast do you want to sell them? Now when I was able to make pointed creates I always wanted to sell them quickly so I’d put them up for 1/3 of their lifetime payout, others put them up for 1/2 their lifetime payout. It’s a matter of preference and figuring out what the market is for them.
(Side note) Points are important because they are what determine what your daily payout is. Daily payout is the best money maker of the game. Most players try to have 3 show horses to 1 breeder, and that ratio is pretty good.
The second is slightly more complicated Xzeina started to explain it. Create 4yr old mares throw them into your pasture without doing Any testing, create a stallion breed them then throw mares, foals and stallion in the auction without any testing besides BA. Fill all the open stalls you have by doing this wait for the auction, then repeat. I’ve used this method to buy several barns and that’s what I would recommend you do. You could also sell a few of the pointed mares for a low price 1/3 their payout, or even less, to free up some space so you can create and breed more horses for auction. Each foal that goes into the auction will make you 1,500 and if you auction the parents as well it won’t put you in the hole. But the most important thing is to not do any testing on any of the horses until you are putting them in auction and only do BA on them when you put them up; otherwise you won’t be making as much or anything doing this.
The short term methods should be used to buy a basic upgrade and barns, then I’d try to save a couple hundred thousand before you start working on whatever breeding line you want to focus on, and start building your show herd. The basic upgrade, barns, and nest egg will help you get started. The larger your nest egg the longer you can build your show herd before your show horses have to start paying for everything. At least that’s what I’d do, and have done in the past.

ImperialCreations, I have added you to my buddy chat where you will find a good show horse waiting for you. At time of this post she is making 190 hbs every day, and if you show her twice a week she will make a little more each time, but if you are really stuck for cash you can put her in an auction where her current lifetime payment is over 19,000 hbs. :)Thanked by 1ImperialCreations

You've been given some good advice, so I'll just add that this is a game that needs patience (I'd put that last word in all caps, but it's not recommended in this forum. :D )
When you get a little bit ahead, you might like to visit the Foundation Rescue (owner # 13 in the Horse Search). All of the horses for sale there are perfect foundations, the best ordinary created can be. They have 100% breeding ability, 100% showing ability, and are perfectly consistent, meaning that their score is the same both times they are shown in a real-life week. Another way of putting it is to say that they have a 9.9 PT score, are perfectly consistent and are at the very top of the C/Yellow breeding score, so they are reliable horses for all purposes. They sell for 2750 hbs, which is 200 hbs more than create price, a good deal for a known quality.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2021-04-20 10:39:25Thanked by 1ImperialCreations -
