    Yes you do need a basic upgrade but if you did go to basic you would need to do this.

    Advanced Facilities to Advanced Breeding lab to use a straw.
    Licensed for Mushroom,Onyx, Watercolor, Ice 13, ice 16, Phantom lace, Phantom Diamond sparkle.
